Verdello is also called summer lemon since it is part of the third flowering of the plant, in fact is harvested between July and September and is the only one that can be eaten in summer.
The green lemon is a variety of lemon typical of Sicily, its smooth green skin has excellent organoleptic properties, a high content of antioxidants, vitamins and minerals, the pulp instead has a sweeter taste than yellow lemons.
The dimensions are medium - small and weighs around 80/100 grams.
Verdelli juice, in summer, is widely used in the kitchen as it gives food a sour tone, but it is also thirst-quenching as a drink. The zest is also used: candied in desserts, fresh in refreshing drinks and liqueurs such as Limoncello.
