Lemon

The Syracuse PGI lemon feminello is characterized by a high juice content and by the richness of oil glands in the peel, as well as by the high quality of essential oils. The Syracusan variety of lemon is named feminine for thanks to the remarkable fertility of the plant, re-flowering all year round:

• the primofiore mature from October to March , has an elliptical shape, skin and pulp varying in color from light green to citrine-yellow, and citrine-yellow juice;

• the white mature from April to June , is elliptical-ovoid, with light yellow skin, yellow flesh and yellow-citrine juice;

• the verdello matures in July and September , has an elliptical-spheroidal shape and light green skin color, while juice and pulp are citrine-yellow
